Okay. I just got back from Iowa like. two hours ago. I left Iowa at 10:30 this morning. It's now 8:30. Meaning I got back at 6:30. That's 8 hours in a car. EIGHT HOURS. granted, maybe. 30 of it wasn't spent in the car when we stopped to, ya know, piss. But yeah, so. Iowa was no problem. It wasn't until we hit Owatona that we ran into troubles... When the freeway suddenly went down to one lane due to road construction (gotta LOVE Road construction). Anyway. After we got through THAT stint of horrible stop and go traffic, I got to crusin' again. I missed the first turn off for 494, and took 35W through the city. Which was fine. I missed tall buildings--Even for growing up in the suburbs, I'm clearly a city girl at heart or something. Tall buildings, slums, homeless people. I wanted it all back. Stupid corn fields.

So. 35W was nice. Easy. I found the exit for 94W which would take me up to St. Cloud. I took it. Blazin' on down the interstate, it was so nice. Until I saw the sign that said, "HWY CLOSED at 101, find alternate route". Thing was. I was going to fast when I first saw it, plus my roommate insisted that they wouldn't close down 94 (which I agreed, why would they close it down? It's a huge main road) and that it was 101 that was closed. .... She was wrong. 94 was closed. And I hit congestion.... Took probably 20 minutes to get off on hwy 101, eventually I was blazing again. UNTIL... I hit Hwy 10. Trust me, by now. I'm about ready to shoot people. Hwy 101 comes off on Hwy 10 RIGHT BEFORE Historic Down Town Elk River. Where there are 4 lights in a row and it drops down to 35 MPH..... So, we were at another stand still. I'm like, yelling at the other cars now, "WHAT THE F--- PEOPLE!? I'VE BEEN IN THIS F--KING CAR SINCE 10:30 THIS MORNING, MOOVVVEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" I was irritated. And to top it off. I had to pee again. ;o; SO. Instead of being home just before 5 like I had predicted, we got home at 6:30. Life blows monkey balls. *Sniffletearcry*
